What Is Acupuncture And How Can It Help?
Medical Acupuncture in our pets is derived from Chinese Acupuncture. Our own Dr. Pinkerton is trained and certified in delivering this treatment by introducing very thin, sterile needles into specific pressure points of her patient’s bodies. These treatments are usually pain free and well tolerated.
Acupuncture has been used for many years in both animals and people to ease both acute and chronic pain, such as back, neck, and joint pain from arthritis or disk disease. By triggering the release of endorphins and decreasing the release of stress hormones, many patients experience relief and improvement in their first session. Regular treatments can increase good outcomes and provide long-term relief from pain and discomfort.
“Acupuncture treatment can be an excellent, effective part of our patients overall care plan.”
Dr. Pinkerton explains “My patients enjoy their sessions it’s rewarding to see them feeling comfortable and relaxed.”
Dr. Pinkerton received her training and certification with Curacore Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians in Colorado and is available for consultation and treatments sessions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please call us to schedule a consultation and session at 805-647-8596!!
